Bomaid Adopts Gosemama Junior Secondary School

Botswana Medical Aid (Bomaid) partnered with Gosemama Junior Secondary School through the Ministry of Basic Education ‘Adopt A School’ initiative. The event, which was themed ‘My efforts, Your Efforts in Building Future Generation’, took place on the 22nd August 2019 at Goo Tau and marked a three-year-relationship between the school and the organisation through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.

In his keynote address at the school, Bomaid Chief Executive Officer Mr Moraki Mokgosana reinstated the organisation’s commitment to assist the school.

“On behalf of Bomaid, I wish to convey our profound gratitude in being singled out as one of the organisations to partner with in this auspicious ‘Adopt-A-School’ national programme. It is our understanding that through this initiative, schools seek either individuals or organisations to work with to provide financial or material support to enhance instructions in the classroom. In the past two consecutive years (2017 & 2018), Bomaid partnered with Gosemama JSS for their Annual Prize Giving Ceremony. We observed and celebrated the school’s commitment to excel”.

Mr Mokgosana went on to note that excellence is one of Bomaid’s core values and the school’s as well. The drive to excel and be a top achiever always results in endless opportunities in career choices and personal development. He commended the School Head and the teachers for their holistic approach in ensuring that students are encouraged to do well in all facets of education.

The Head School of Gosemama JSS Ms Tebogo Mack, thanked Bomaid for the pledge to support the Ministry of Basic education. She said that, “thorough this program, the Ministry seeks the assistance of Batswana, be it organisations or individuals, to come together to contribute towards the education of the children. Organisations like Bomaid are exemplary and we are grateful for their support”.

In his closing remarks, Mr Mokgosana encouraged the students to focus on academics, respect their teachers, all support staff and to study hard.  He noted education is something that no one can take from them.
